The Winter Season in Auron

Skiing in Auron starts at 1600m rising to a peak of 2450m. The resort provides 135Km of skiing comprising of 42 pistes; 9 black runs, 15 red runs, 16 blue runs and 2 green runs and 21 lifts comprising of cable cars, chair lifts and drag lifts. Snow permitting, you can ski directly back to the village. The nursery slope is located at the middle station along with the ski school. Lift passes and ski lessons can be booked from the village or the middle station. you need a photo for a 3 day or longer lift pass. Other activities include an outdoor ice rink in the centre of the village, open during the day and evening with skate hire available. Auron and neighbouring resort Isola 2000 are two of the largest ski resorts in the Alpes-Maritimes and benefits from early season snow that misses more northerly ski resort with season opening on the 6th December 2008 right through to the 26th of April 2009. A dual resort pass is available from either resort for a little more. Auron caters for a variety of ski abilities with more challenging slopes for advanced skiers than Isola 2000. The ski area is also linked via cable car to the traditionally French village of Saint Etienne de Tinee.
N.B. When you are purchasing a ski pass for 3 or more days you must provide a passport size photo for ID.
